While we prosecute thousands of cases a year, these are some of the cases of note over the past three years. From homicides, white collar crime, domestic violence, DWI, drug dealing and many more, District Attorney Tendy and the Assistant District Attorneys in the office are up to the task of investigating and convicting those who are a danger to our community.
Pinwheels for Prevention is an annual display on the shores of Lake Gleneida. The bright blue moving pinwheels catch the eye and act as a reminder that all children have the right to grow up happy and unafraid. Child abuse is something our office prosecutes extremely aggressively, and we do all we can to prevent it. I'm proud to be part of this event every year, and even more proud of the many volunteers who take part in it.
By seizing the assets of criminal activity, The Putnam District Attorney's Office has been able to provide law enforcement with safety vests, computer equipment, investigative training seminars, and more. We have also provided specialty support training that will help victims of domestic violence.
Temple Beth Shalom in Mahopac sponsored an event of Biblical proportions! The Trial of the People v. Abraham. I was asked to defend Abraham against charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child--and other charges. The Trial stems from the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac (See Genesis, Ch. 22). Local attorney Scott Reing was the prosecutor. It was an excellent event and all had a splendid time. The verdict? Hung jury!
This hand made, wood, "Thin Blue Line" Flag is the first thing you see as you enter the office. We prominently display it so that all can see our support for the amazing work law enforcement does in our community. It's a small symbol of our respect and gratitude for the job all the law enforcement agencies do every day on our behalf.
These wonderful volunteers helped me beyond belief. Thanks so much!
